Fantastic Trip

10-27-2015
Frank Ursitti - Ranger 85

3 day Report Let's just say we had a fantastic trip. We went in search of tuna and came back with only 1 yellowfin. We were all disappointed that they would not eat a single sardine. Oh well, change plan of attack. Went in search of yellowtail and bottom critters. Caught and released (lost count) on smaller 2-5lb yellows, and ended up scratching out a day of mixed yellow, whitefish, sheephead, and a sampling of rockfish. Later on in the afternoon on one of the days we had 10 jig strikes on quality yellows. The fish were anywhere from 10-25 lb and eating anything we threw at them. Long story short, 4 hrs later into the dark we put on 205 yellows. Insane and epic would describe that bite best. I personally have never seen those fish bite like that in the Channel Islands. Thank you to each and every passenger on board for making that an amazing trip. Looking forward to the next one!!!!! 800+ mixed fish for 26 anglers.

We are looking ahead to 2016 with our schedule of trips and plan to publish...... Read More

I look back on 2015 and I can hardly believe October is approaching. What a year it has been and continues to be. Daily limit catches of Yellowfin are common along with Dorado. We are seeing, in ever increasing numbers, Wahoo being brought to the scale. These are exciting times and times that likely we will not see for decades to come. To have the opportunity to engage Wahoo one typically has to reserve a 7 day trip or...... Read More
