Larry from St. Louis here and it will be my pleasure to bring you the daily blow by blows of the annual 18 day Accurate charter. The man himself, Jack Nilsen, is safely stowed on board along with a small fortune worth of shiny platinum reels and matching rods to be handed out for the asking. Of the 22 passengers onboard, all but 2 or 3 are Accurate regulars which makes a great trip even more fun. The previous trip got in yesterday morning which meant the crew got time off to watch the Super Bowl, and maybe even more importantly, it made for a quick getaway this morning for our trip.

We shoved off around 9 and by that time the crew had already loaded the boat with what Frank says is fabulous looking bait. With that out of the way there was no reason for us to stop once we took off so we are headed straight out to the fishing grounds. Of course we don’t know for sure where those grounds are yet, but I think we can safely assume that we’ve got a boat ride ahead of us.

My wife informed me it was snowing a bit back home this morning, but that feels like a different universe away right now because San Diego temps. are running about 20 degrees above average and the sun is full tilt this afternoon. The weather alone might be worth the price of admission, but there’s no reason to think there won’t be a lot of fun and excitement in our future to go along with it.

Today is a day for unpacking, renewing old friendships, and start getting stomachs stretched for the continual onslaught of food to come. For now all is right with the world, nothing but wall to wall smiles, and an impending sense of great things to come. I will inform you of them when they do, and as I always do, try and bring you a little laughter with your reports in the form of the….
