December 14, 2007 - ALEXANDRIA, VA ??? The Future Fisherman Foundation, the angler education and recruitment arm of the American Sportfishing Association, is pleased to announce the appointment of Anne Danielski as the foundation's new Executive director. Her appointment became effective December 7, 2007.

Danielski possesses an extensive background in aquatic education program design, development and implementation. Danielski joined the foundation in August 2006 as National Program coordinator. She has been acting Executive director since September 2007.?? Prior to joining the foundation, she was the education specialist for the Pennsylvania Sea Grant Program. Danielski holds a BS in Biology from Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, in Erie, Pa.

Danielski regularly enjoys outdoor activities including camping, kayaking, sailing, biking and, of course, fishing. She is passionate about sharing that love of the outdoors with young people. "Fishing is an ideal way to reconnect our youth and their families with nature. We will make it our focus to develop more opportunities for young people to fish and continue to make conservation and responsible angling a part of every student's course of study," said Danielski. "I look forward to working with the ASA membership and the present and future partners of the Future Fisherman Foundation to responsibly grow the sport."??

Danielski coordinated and implemented the first year of the foundation's Hooked On Fishing Not ??? On Drugs (HOFNOD)?? activities and efforts with the foundation's partnership with U.S. Department of Justice Law Enforcement's Youth Partnerships for Crime Prevention. The partnership is now in its second year and has proven a great success. Danielski was instrumental in facilitating support for the foundation's Youth Fishing Tournament held in partnership with B.A.S.S. and the Bassmaster Elite series Capital Clash tournament. The tournament provides youth from the Boys & Girls Clubs with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to fish with Elite Series professional anglers in a junior fishing tournament. The program intends to expand its efforts in 2008, continuing to bring fishing and conservation education to Boys & Girls Clubs youth across the nation.

Kerry Campbell, the foundation's Board of Directors Chair and Director of Sales for the TTI-Blakemore Fishing Group, voiced her support for Danielski. "Anne is an excellent choice for Executive Director," said Campbell. "In her time with the foundation, she has already spearheaded many improvements to the programs while continuing to build strong relationships with all of the foundation's partners. I look forward to continuing to work with her."
