Truckee River Fish Report
2-6-2016
Reno Fly Shop
The recent high water did wonders for the river. This was the highest flow event that we have seen since July 2012 at the Farad Gage.
CURRENT CONDITIONS OF THE TRUCKEE RIVER AT FARAD
While the river was high this brought a great ‘flushing’ flow to the system. Fish were able to move around and had access to an abundance of new food sources that were mobilized from the stream banks. This has the trout on the move and active. Swinging unweighted streamers along the edges of the main channel and in the quiet water is working, as is, dead drifting dark nymphs and red worm patterns.
Flies: Flashtail Bugger #6 Olive and Black, The One, Jigged Stone #10 Black, AP Black Nymph #12, The Carot #12 and the Red San Juan Worm #12
