Water level: Low level, private water craft are currently banned.

To protect Wohlford from invasive exotic Quagga mussels, there is still a ban on private water craft and equipment that could have been exposed to mussels. Restricted equipment includes private boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, and other equipment that contacts the water.

Lake Wohlford is offering $20 all day motor boats to seniors on Tuesdays and Thursdays and to active military on the first and third Saturdays of each month.

The trout bite is strong nearly everywhere and limits are coming out of Senior Shoreline, Oakvale Cove, and Boat Dock Cove. We would like to express our thanks to the Department of Fish and Wildlife for the supplementary plant of 250 pounds of trout we received from them on Wednesday. The biggest trout of the week belonged to Roy Duncan of Escondido and weighed 9.75#s it was caught using a mousetail in Boat Dock Cove. Other notable catches included: Roy Brinneman’s 5.60#and William Gifford’s 3.75#. The top baits continue to be salmon eggs, inflated nightcrawlers, or powerbait, preferably dipped in garlic sauce.

The bass bite has been slow. Largemouth Bass can be found around structure and often hit on crawdads, crank bait, or dark colored plastics.

Catfish can be caught throughout the lake. Lake Wohlford cats prefer cut mackerel or chicken liver.
