Folsom Lake Fishing Report

Nor Cal Fish Reports

Folsom finally has an open ramp again. Head in at the granite bay entrance, follow the signs and you’ll see it. As of now they have a paved single lane ramp with a dock. The only issue is the 5mph speed limit over the entire lake. I hit the water at 7 on Tuesday and started to head north. The water was very stained from the rain and rising water. I started on a vertical wall and noticed that the water was getting worse as I went north. I fished until 10:30 with only one bite. The fish would not touch anything I was throwing. I gave up on fishing for a little and headed to the main lake to mark way points on my graph, there are tons of exposed rock piles that could hold fish once the water gets up. I fished main lake and still could not get any bites, I started to think that the fish just could not see my baits. I went down the south fork and the water looked better, still stained but less than the north and main lake. At 3 I tied on an underspin with a 3.8 inch kietech and finally got bit. I was just barley creeping it over the bottom and the bites were very soft. I only caught 3 fish the entire day. I think the fish need some type of flash or noise to find the bait with all the stained water.
