Strong fishing to finish the trip on: again very good action on 70 – 180's in the pre dawn through daylight hour; but no jumbos in the mix. No complaints though; it was far too good a run overall to raise a bitch. For this style of fishing, at this time of the season in this zone, we could not ask for more. Better said we could not expect more. One can, and always should I gather, reach for the stars. Following the solid finish on tuna we re-focused our efforts toward the prospect of “skinnin'”. Though no barn burner it was a fine diversion. After a three full days of stationary fishing it actually felt good to get out and stretch our legs a bit. A couple of handfuls of nice skinnines made the effort worthwhile and definitely infused some excitement and variety into the final hours. After that we were gone; on our way toward a beckoning Cabo San Lucas and ultimately home. An incredibly festive evening closed out the day as revelers toasted to a bounty in the hatch earned by their hand. The good fortune element of this catch was not missed either. Recognizing that these kind of results are not simply a matter of muscle everyone expressed their appreciation for the obvious in their own way. Some boisterous, some introspective, some analytical, it all added up to the same thing – good times enjoyed to be remembered. A quick day of travel across in unbelievably gorgeous conditions will pass tomorrow as chores are completed and preparations are made for what appears will be a rather arduous trip up the line. Not for the super majority of these anglers though; they'll be on terra firma awaiting the boat's arrival in San Diego come Saturday morning. Photo's today feature Royal Star veteran's James Worley, who scored two personal best's this run including this dandy 210, and Justin Greenberg who capitalized on the wahoo opportunity today with this lithe 45 pounder.
