Although the delta has been tough there’s still plenty of big fish to be caught with the water temperatures falling and the season changing as we move into winter the fish have slowed way down and with the water temp at 55 to 57 you must slow down with the fish. I found most success in the back of dead end marinas that had 15-20 ft depth somewhere in it and in these areas the water seemed to be 58 to 60 was key to getting more strikes with only needing two rods on the deck the first one was a Dobyns 734 spooled with Trilene big game 15 pound test Daiichi hook with a Yamamoto senko watermelon red and the other rod was a dobyns 805 punch rod with 65 pound Spiderwire braid 1 ounce River2Sea trash bomb and a River2Sea flip jack hook topped with a Yamamoto flappin hog as I worked my way through the marina I flipped the senko around the docks when I found heavy grass clumps I punched. The grass is still healthy in these areas and with healthy grass means plenty of forage and bass.
