We started in the zone where we caught the big ones the evening before and by chance they were there again. Right away we saw sign of 75lb fish, but because we were no longer shopping for that grade - we left them. It took us about an hour to find a stop where we had the big ones blowing out around the boat and biting. We ended up with 5 fish over two hundred pounds and a multitude of fish in the 160-190lb class.
Steve Schneblin lost a big fish yesterday right at gaff and instead of some dramatic show, he laughed out loud and thanked everyone for the chance and opportunity to pull on such a great fish. It seems pretty coincidental that Steve threw out twice and caught two fish over 200lbs on consecutive baits topped by a 273lber.
Also joining the good karma group was Barry Gambarana who passed off a fish to someone that didn't yet have a big one, even though he knew it was a cow because we all saw the huge boil it made at impact.
