Hello everyone; We arrived to San Martin Island at 05:30 hours, looked around for some time, made a few anchor drops, but nothing for our efforts on the anchor. So we started making short drifts, and that would pay off for our anglers. It was not a wide open bite, it was fair. Most of the Yellowtail were in the 14 to 18 pound range, with a few larger one’s.
After lunch, we made a move to the west and started looking for kelps. Most of the kelps were empty, but we did find one that had some 18 to 20 pound Dorado.
So it was a tough day of fishing, with 40 Yellowtail, 20 Dorado, and a handful of rockfish for our efforts. We are now headed north, hoping that the kelp fishing is better tomorrow, than today. Our weather was overcast, with very little wind, and most of the afternoon was rain. Our passengers are having a great time, and hoping for a better day tomorrow.
