Special Drawings for Spring Wild Turkey Hunts on Opening Weekend at Cache Creek

Permits are required for the opening weekend of the spring wild turkey season at Cache Creek Wildlife Area (Department of Fish and Game) and Cache Creek Natural Area (Bureau of Land Management) on March 25 and 26, 2006.
DFG implemented this special opening weekend drawing due to high public use and safety issues. The two-day wild turkey hunt permits will be issued by a special drawing. Forty permits will be issued for the hunt.
DFG must receive applications by 5 p.m., Thursday, March 2, 2006, to be included in the drawing on March 3, 2006. Each hunter is allowed only one application. Two hunters may apply on one application. Submit a standard Postal Service-sized postcard (one or two hunters per card), with name and mailing address, telephone number, and hunting license number.
Applications not following these guidelines will be disqualified from the drawing. Mail the applications to the following address:

Successful applicants will receive a permit by mail. Additional information and a map of the hunt area will be included. The Cache Creek Wildlife Area and Cache Creek Natural Area are about 80,000 acres located in Lake and Colusa counties, generally south of Highway 20 and west of Highway 16. The Cache Creek Area has about 20,000 acres of turkey habitat and maintains good populations of wild turkey.
