We had a fun and productive day here at the island on the Yellows. This trip we have over half the group that has never been Long Range fishing on the west coast. It has been a real treat to teach them the tricks and watch them catch their first Yellowtails and just get the hang of the techniques involved. We had action on the drift, but the really good fishing came via the anchor, as we found a nice school that wanted to bite and being on the anchor sure made it fun for the group. The Yo-Yo jig was the hot ticket and the 2 ounce sliding sinker rig with a Sardine or one of the local Mackerel also got the job done today. With 3 generations of Martins on the rig, there is also some special times going on! We will be hunting offshore tomorrow as we work our way up the coast. Wish us Luck
