Hey folks-

We had another great day aboard the Shogun! After pulling the anchor about 0300 we idled out to the tuna grounds and after a couple hours of looking spotted we some porpoise. We had a couple short stops on beautiful grade yft up to 50# but the porpoise didn’t offer up any big hits. We decided to take a tour to the south to check out another bank and on our way back up bumped into a nice school. The fish reacted right away with a dozen hookups on the slide. These were all big brutes and put gear and angler to the breaking point.

After the bite slowed down a little bit the kite went up and we were able to keep scratching. After the fifth kite angler a new school descended on us from upswell and controlled chaos ensued. After all was said and done we ended up limits of yft with 35 tuna in the 40-60# class. We are going to give it one more try tomorrow before heading up the line. Wish us luck!
