Channel Islands Sportfishing
The end of another weekend marks the middle of July with August quickly approaching! It still looks like we are going to have an extended summer with endless potential. Don’t be surprised if we start fishing Tuna in the coming months like we did last year. Fish are getting closer every day with no reason to stop short of our lush fishing grounds. For now we are happy fishing the islands for Yellowtail, Barracuda and Calico Bass. Bottom fishing also remains good with some big fish coming up like the one pictured here. John Lee fished our 3/4 day boat, Gentleman and caught this whopper of a Lingcod. Overall the fishing has been great and just keeps getting better with each passing day. If this year keeps going the way it is we could be venturing offshore soon.
Today's Fish Count: 9 Boats and 240 Anglers
83 Barracuda, 56 Bonito, 183 Calico Bass, 14 Yellowtail, 2 Sand Bass, 2 Perch, 1 Cabezon, 110 Lingcod, 27 Ocean Whitefish, 6 Sculpin, 27 Sheephead and 1,437 Rockfish.
