WSB on the Chew at Cisco's!!!

6-6-2015
Channel Islands Sportfishing

Great fishing for all the Cisco’s anglers today! Everyone had a great time and while catching a nice variety of fish at both the local and outer islands. The weather was also absolutely perfect with warm and sunny skies on a flat calm ocean. Bottom fishing for Red Snapper and Lingcod was really good with a few of the boats limiting out early and with big loads. For some lucky anglers on a hand full of our boats, the White Seabass came out to play. The Sea Jay reported limits of WSB and a couple of Yellowtail for its 10 anglers on a local island charter. According to some of the passengers fishing the boat said they could have caught a lot more if it were permitted. “They were really biting” said several of the anglers departing the “Jay” this afternoon. Unfortunately the limit for Seabass doesn’t increase to 3 fish for another week on June 15th. The White Seabass also decided to turn on at the outer islands. Both the Mirage and Seabiscuit were able to make live squid and found themselves in the right place at the right time this morning. The fish are a nice grade said captain Matt Alport of the Seabiscuit, averaging 25 to 30 pounds with the biggest today weighing in at 33 pounds. All this is very exciting news for many anglers eagerly awaiting the big Seabass bite that usually begins in June. This may be it so get ready and sign up for a trip coming up soon! Space is limited and if the fish really go off, it may be hard to find space on a boat. Nothing makes the phone ring like Croaker at the Channel Islands!!!
