We have had nice traveling up the line, although the wind was up yesterday and last night, but right now things are very nice. We had some tough conditions on this one with weather and current, being lack of or very strong on both the wind and the current side of things. There were many casualties on big fish this trip, as we look back and reminisce with the anglers we have come up with at least 15 heavy fish that won their freedom in one way or another, but that's is how it goes sometimes. Rigging was sound, effort was 110% by all, the Giants just battled for it every time and came out on top more often than we did. Angler Mile Calison caught his personal best Tuna of around 160lbs, then had three consecutive hook-ups on cows over the coarse of 3 days and had heartbreaks each time, one of which was 15 feet from gaff and looked to be around 250, 1 had the hook break in half, the other chewed through the 100lb line after 2.5hrs. Many others were lost as well for a number of anglers. Heavy wind, strong current made for a tough drift that caused quite a few hook pulls. Giant Tuna fishing is very rewarding and very frustrating at times, but we all had a blast, hooked, caught, and landed enough to make a good trip out of it. 1 ripper bite this week made for lots of story telling and excitement. The hot jig for the skinnies this trip was no doubt the "Ron Huth Bullet Bomb" produced by HighTideSportfishing.com" in a variety of colors. Good Wahoo fishing and good times, new personal bests, and fishing with friends. It's Buffet night!! We are all getting very hungry!
