Sievers Says, Now!
7-8-2007
Bill Roecker
Ken Sievers is a top counterman at Fisherman's Landing. He makes the best of his position by keeping track of the local bite, and fishes off La Jolla and Point Loma and the Coronados often, usually aboard local day boats and half-day boats.
"Right now, barracuda, calico bass and yellowtail are all biting," Ken told me July 8. "It's excellent fishing off La Jolla. The yellowtail are a little harder to catch. They're around eight to 20 pounds, mostly. The bite is improving, and most are coming on bait. When they eat iron it's on the surface."
