Fish Report for 7-21-2012
Perfect flows and lower daytime temps mean great fishing on the Truckee
7-21-2012
Matt Koles
Heading in to our third week of July the river is in great shape. Flows are still up out of Tahoe for the booze crew, and above 500 cubes in the Hirsch and below. Perfect. Cooler daytime temps and colder overnight temps have put the water temps back into the higher 50's during start time. Afternoons have been a windy proposition as of late. Crays, stones, caddis, sallys, repeat in that order. Hoppers are on the scene now too. I've been working in the fast oxygenated water, heads of runs, etc. After a little lesson, Ross picked up this beauty today, his first fish on a fly rod.
