Well, Well, Well...We have FINALLY started getting some good reports from Bridgeport Lake!!! Yesterday they were doing fair with bait and a little trolling with blades and crawlers. They also did very well over in the Rainbow Point area casting perch colored Thomas Bouyants from boats. This technique seemed to be the best thing going yesterday. Today the trolling was still pretty good and the bait fishing was very good. Power Bait (Salmon Peach) was the best bait going, and inflated crawlers came in second, about 3 to 1 PB verses crawlers. There was also some very good blood midge action over where Robinson and Buckeye Creeks come in to the lake, we talked to a couple guys that caught about 15 fish over there with blood midge patterns. Most of the fish we heard about were in the 1 to 2 pound range, with a few up to about 4.5 lbs. I'm very happy to have some good things to report about Bridgeport Lake, hopefully this will just keep getting better!! The East Walker is still fishing great. Still on dry flies, and some nymphs. PMD's in the am, and caddis in the pm. Also had some great reports on rubberleg stimi's yesterday, sounds like some of the bigger fish were liking bigger dries yesterday. The flow is about 146 still. The USGS site for the flows on the East Walker has a notice that they are losing their funding for keeping track of the flows on the EW as of July 1, 2007 so I don't know if we'll be able to keep reporting or informing for that matter on the flows. Hopefully they will find some money and we'll still have that information. We heard a rumor the other day about a 14 pound brown from Twin Lakes, and with a little research found it to be true! Alan Cole, the A/C Plug inventor, caught a 14 pounder up there I believe last Tuesday! Beautiful fish!! There's a photo on Alan's site - acplugs.com - Check it out, it's a really nice fish. It says he caught it on a kokanee A/C Plug trolling deep. Congrats Alan!
