Winter fishing is in full swing as colder, sunny days and clear lake waters kick up the trout bite. Trout action was excellent on both lakes with anglers using Power Bait ( especially salmon peach, orange, yellow and rainbow), night crawlers (with marshmallows or Power Bait ), jigs ( smoke, orange, green jigs, jakes), lures to catch limits and big fish. Lots of limits went out with an over 3 trout per angler average. Hot spots included the eastern and western shores of lake 3 as well as the northern and eastern shores of lakes 2.

#1 : Victorville angler, Joe Nevarez scored an 8 Lbs 5 ozs rainbow on a smoke crappie jig while fishing the northern shore of lake 2 at Jess Ranch Lakes.

#2 : Friends enjoyed a sunny day and great trout fishing at Jess Ranch Lakes. Danny Coley of Hesperia reeled in a 6 lbs 10 ozs rainbow using sherbet Power Bait from the eastern logged shore of lake 3. Coley's friend, Jason Peacock of Los Angeles, caught his 5 lbs 9 ozs trout on yellow Power Bait while also fishing from the eastern shore of lake 3. Shane Pitchford of Victorville and Manuel Montecino of La Puente also fished with Coley and Peacock and managed to catch their limits as well on Power Baits.
