Trout action continues to be slow with anglers using everything in their tackle boxes to catch fish including Power Bait ( especially salmon peach, garlic and orange), night crawlers, jigs and lures. Best bite is before 10 am. Hot spots included the grassy point and the western shore near the bridge of lake 3 as well as the northern and eastern shores of lake 2. Catfish were biting on shrimp and night crawlers. Bass are biting on spinner bait and senkos with anglers reporting fish up to 3 pounds. Hot spots for bass included the northern and western shores of lake 3 and the western and southern shores of lake 2. Bluegill are biting meal worms and small jigs from the southern and eastern shore of lake 2 and the northern and western shores of lake 3.

1. Thirteen year old Orange angler, Kenny Purcell, reeled in a 4 lbs 8 ozs trout using Velveeta and Bread while fishing the Grassy Point near the net house at Jess Ranch Lakes

2. Nine Year old Fontana angler, John Luevano, caught his 5 lbs 10 ozs rainbow on a night crawler while fishing the Grassy Point of Lake 3 with his dad and brothers at Jess Ranch Lakes.

3. George Fraiser of Apple Valley caught his 9 lbs rainbow on a Power Mouse ( orange Power Worm and salmon peach Power Bait) while fishing the Grassy Point of Lake 3 at Jess Ranch Lakes.

Catches of the Week:
George Fraiser of Apple Valley caught his 9 lbs rainbow on a Power Mouse ( orange Power Worm and salmon peach Power Bait) while fishing the Grassy Point of Lake 3. Another Apple Valley angler, John Dockum, scored a 4 lbs 10 ozs rainbow from the Grassy Point of Lake 3 using Velveeta Cheese. Thirteen year old Orange angler, Kenny Purcell, reeled in a 4 lbs 8 ozs trout using Velveeta and Bread while fishing the Grassy Point near the net house. Matthew Warren of Riverside caught his 3 lbs 14 ozs rainbow using salmon peach Power Bait while fishing the western shore of lake 3 near the bridge. Paul Tomas of Azusa fished the north shore of lake 2 with an orange Power Worm and caught a 3 lbs 5 ozs rainbow.

The Lakes' Hatchery stocks trout every Friday year round. This year the Lakes' hatchery is amping up the weekly trout stockings with bigger fish overall.
