Jess Ranch Lake Fish Report
11-8-2009
Jess Ranch Lakes Staff
Cooler temps and light winds improved the bite overall with excellent action before 10am and very good
action after 1pm on both lakes. Anglers used Power Bait ( especially orange, rainbow, spring green and lime twist),
night crawlers, jigs and lures to catch lots of limits. Hot spots included the grassy point, eastern shore and the
western shore from the pump house to the bridge of lake 3 as well as the northern and eastern shore of lake 2.
Catfish are biting on mackerel, shrimp, night crawlers and Power Bait. Hot spots include
the eastern shore of lake 2 and the western shore of lake 3 near the pump house. Bass are still biting senkos
and spinner bait on the southeastern shore near the wall of lake 2 and the northern shore of lake 3 near the
pump house.
Catches of the Week: Mark Harwell of Victorville reeled in a 3 lbs 7 oz trout to limit on rainbow Power Bait
while fishing the northern shore of lake 2. Dave Griffins of Azuza scored a 4 lbs 2 oz rainbow using an
orange power worm on the eastern shore of lake 3 across from the pump house. Kris Lawson of Rialto caught
a 4 lbs 2 oz rainbow on a white crappie jig from the eastern shore of lake 3.
The Lakes' Hatchery stocks trout every Friday year round.
This year the Lakes' hatchery is amping up the weekly trout stockings with bigger fish overall.
