ANIMAS RIVER AT DURANGO, CO
- Water Temp: 56.3 ° F
- Flow: 1490 ft³/s
- Water Level: 3.86 ft
USGS Falling
The Animas is dropping and clearing up. Water will still be high, but good fishing conditions are showing up.
As we get warmer, caddis hatches should be showing and fish may look up. Otherwise, large flashy and dark nymph and streamer rigs are in order. It also never hurts to have a salmonfly dry on hand.
Target close to the banks in the higher water.
Big water attractors: Prince nymphs and variants 10-14, Orange Crush 12-16, Pat’s Rubberlegs and stonefly nymphs 4-8, Cranefly Larva 6-10.
