Fish Report for 5-15-2023
Opening day of rockfish/lingcod season
5-15-2023
Jon Yokomizo
Today was the opening day of rockfish/lingcod season for us and the fishing was amazing, the fish were hungry and kept chasing us down. We found out today that if you’ve got a Lexa 400 full of line, you get fish up to 550 feet of water with line to spare. The anglers that fished bars got away with 8 to 12 ounces and the shrimp fly fisherman used 16 to 24 ounces of lead.
Our 26 anglers caught 260 rockfish, 28 sablefish and 35 petrale sole. The trip tomorrow is a go with space available and we’ll have one or 2 more days of decent weather offshore. Book your spot now at seawolfsportfishing.com.
The Sea Wolf runs trips out of Fish Emeryville in Emeryville, CA. If you would like to go fishing with us please BOOK ONLINE or call (510) 652-3403 to get in on the action.
