The Upper Deschutes has been fishing fair

8-12-2022
Fly and Field Outfitters

The Upper Deschutes has been fishing fair. Nymphing with heavier tungsten flies or using some split shot to get your flies down is beneficial. Jimmy legs, two-bits, nitro caddis, rainbow warriors, and psycho princes are some of our favorites. Stripping or dead drifting streamers around some of the undercuts and downed timber is a good way to target some larger fish. The Upper is a gorgeous place to spend a day so get out there and get after some fish.

Suggested Dries: X-Stimulator #12, Black or Tan Elk Hair Caddis #14-18, Black or Tan Foam Caddis #14-18, Purple Haze #14-18, Tilt Wing PMD #14-18, Parachute PMD #14-18, Black Stimulator #14-16, Parachute Adams #14-18, CDC Flying Ant #14-16, Black or Cinnamon Foam Ant #14-16, Hackle Stacker Baetis #16-20, Parachute Baetis #16-20
