Sunrise Sportfishing
Howdy yall, it's Trejan on the Sunrise. Today, we had a 5 hour fishing and crabbing trip with 20 passengers. After we left the harbor at after 6:30, we went north for about 35 minutes before we got to our first fishing spot. We didn't set out any crab pots on the way there because we rebaited them at the end of our trip yesterday. When we got to our fishing spot, we got fish 3 on our first drift. We then caught 3 again on the second, and 2 on the third. Fishing stayed consistent with us catching 1-4 rockfish a drift until about the 7th drift. That's when we started catching between 7-10 fish a drift until we limited out. We also some Lingcod to go and a couple of huge Cabezon. After we limited out, it was just about time for us to go crabbing. Once again, we had our best crabbing day of the year. We ended up with 122 crab with 16 crabbing so everyone got over 7 crab a person. After crabbing, we finished up our trip by heading back into the harbor. During the trip, the wheather was good but the fog is still here. The ocean was pretty smooth for the most part as well. Overall, it was great day for fishing and a fantastic day for crabbing.
