Howdy yall, it's Trejan on the Sunrise. Today, we had a 5 hour fishing and crabbing trip with 20passengers. After we left the harbor at after 6:30, we went west for 7 minutes to find a good place to set our crab pots. After setting our pots, we headed north for about 25 minutes . Since fishing has slowed down locally, we went a little further to get fish today. On our first drift, we caught 0 fish. We then caught 5 on the second, and 3 on the third. Fishing started out a little slow again today, so after a few drifts, we went to a different area. We decided to fish near the kelp beds to see how well the fish would bite. To our surprise, we got 4 Cabezon and 2 Lingcod on our first drift there. We continued drifting over the same spot and after about 5 drifts, we were close to our Cabezon limit. We then then moved again to another fishing spot near our previous one. We caught almost of our rockfish there and the rest of our Cabezon limit. After about 4 hours of fishing, it was time for us to go crabbing. After crabbing, we finished up our trip by heading back into the harbor. During the trip, the wheather was alright but it was a little foggy. The ocean was a little bumpy as well. Overall, it was great day for fishing.
