Catfish here at Lake Poway can be caught year-round.   There is still a good catfish bite off boats on the Log Boom or from shore by Jump Off Point.  The bass bite has been good this month but it is the end of the spawn for them, so the bite has recently slowed.  We’ve gotten a great bluegill spawn this spring and they can be caught by the fishing pier.  Lake Poway will begin stocking catfish and be open for night fishing come early July.

When you stop by concessions to buy your permit ask about the best spots and baits. They have up to the minute information.
