As waters begin to warm, fishing heats up in March at two of the Puget Sound region’s largest lakes: Lake Washington and Lake Sammamish.

Anglers primarily target coastal cutthroat trout, with a 5 trout daily limit. Rainbow trout and steelhead larger than 20 inches must be released. Trolling spoons, Wiggle Hoochies or Wedding Ring lures with downriggers or sinking leadcore lines is the most common method.
