Green River Fishing Report

Typical winter flows around 900CFS. Water temps are in the low 40’s. Fish have moved off of their beds are are now relocating into some of the deep and slow winter holds. Now is the time to start planning your winter streamer trip.

Dry flies:

Very few winter baetis are coming off sporadically along with a few midge.

Nymphing:

Small, and we mean small, baetis, midge, scuds are producing some fish. Midge pupa are a good bet. Crono Flash midge, Bling midge, Mirrls UV midge, all in 20’s and smaller.

Streamers:

Streamer season is here. We have been fishing some of the slower and deeper water with a slow almost jigging retrieve. Fish some smaller articulated leech patterns like Peanut Envy’s, Articulated Goldies, and Articulated thin mints. Cycle through your colors.
