Salmon continue to move up the Sacramento River
8-16-2021
Jeff Goodwin
The 2021 Sacramento River King salmon season started a month ago and salmon numbers are building from Chico to Anderson. We've had 2 boats working the Sac since the opener and they are starting to see a significant number of Kings showing now. The next full moon is on the 22nd and that generally sends a bunch of salmon up river. Captain Justin Thompson fished a group of three today and they hooked 7 salmon and landed 5. Those are some good numbers for this early part of the season and thats fueling our excitement for what we think will be a good year on the Sacramento River fishing for King salmon. We've had some cancellation calls coming in, mainly because of the smoke in the Redding area. Fortunately we are fishing an hour south of Redding and have had comfortable fishing conditions during all of our trips. If you'd like to look at some of our available dates, call Jaynie at (530) 510-2925. Thank you!
