Look where we live I just have to say we have such a great place to go out and enjoy our great outdoors. Here below the Davis Dam along the shores of the Colorado River we have some great opportunities to just enjoy this great resource. Whether you are just catching some rays playing in the water there is boating, skiing and lets get to fishing. This time of year our stripers are mostly running in the 1 to 6 pound range.  The area by the casinos near the dam and the shores of community park are all great areas to throw out a line.

Our local angler Mike Gabrielson was fishing from shore in the Davis camp area and landed a nice 5.28 pound striper at 24 and 1/2 inches.  Mike likes to bait fish and was using anchovies. The same choice of bait goes with our next motley looking bunch that landed a few stripers while floating the river.

Our local martial arts instructor Ben Aleman was using his boat  along with Chris Vasquez and Jeremy Parck to hook up these few stripers. They  drifted from community park to here at the marina where Ben has been mooring his boat.

I have been getting some news from the Topock Marsh the catfish bite is picking up and the large mouth bass are going after various spinner baits with green and white producing the best.

Not much news from up on Lake Mohave but that should change soon as the lake should be producing some stripers near the power lines and the coves near by. the area near the dam on the Nevada side also can be a great area for a few of the stripers in the 4 to 8 pound range.
