The bass spawn is heading into post spawn but not quite there yet. They are still in their beds but a bit more lethargic. Impressive weights on largemouths caught this weekend. Dropshotting was the popular method with pinks and purples, shiners, and nightcrawlers. The bluegill bite has picked up considerably and are in shallower waters no. Crappie reports daily but slowing down some from last month. This Wednesday, April 12,2021 Lower Otay will be closed for the extra for the extra one day a month closure.

Roboworms and flukes produced impressive numbers over the weekend. Pinks and purples were popular. The bass were pretty much biting on anything that was thrown and chasing swimbaits as well. They are shallow along the tules and along the shorelines. Bluegill numbers are picking up but still remain in deeper waters. Biting on live worms.
