EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR

Trout action has been very good. Rainbow and tiger trout are taking a variety of spinners and spoons. Bait anglers have been doing well from the shoreline using a chunk of night crawler and PowerBait or combined with a mini marshmallow. The fishing pier is still inaccessible, and the boat launch is closed. Freezing temperatures overnight are making for icy conditions early in the morning along the shoreline.

ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR

Rainbow trout action has been very good.  The best fishing has been found by those using kayaks or floatables to get away from the shoreline. Water levels continue to rise and that has anglers finding improved action off the dam. The fish are taking PowerBait in rainbow, orange, or green colorations, as well as spinners. Shorelines are muddy and icy in the mornings.

LAKE MEAD

Striped bass continue to hit topwater lures throughout the morning hours in the Boulder Basin. Largemouth bass activity is being reported in the shallows with the fish taking chatterbaits, soft plastics, and Whopper Ploppers. Anglers are catching catfish up to 5 pounds around Hemenway after sunset. Few reports have come in from the Virgin Basin or Overton Arm. Black bass and striped bass action is hit and miss near Echo Bay. Expect fishing patterns to change due to the drop in temperatures.

LAKE MOHAVE

Shore anglers at Willow Beach are reporting striped bass catches on chrome Rat-L-Traps. Rainbow trout are taking baits near the fishing pier from sunrise to about noon. On the reservoir, both black and striped bass are hitting topwater baits like Zara Spooks and Whopper Ploppers. Catfish are taking anchovies and corn near Cottonwood Cove. The bass bite is expected to slow down due to the sudden temperature drop.

LAUGHLIN

Boaters are catching stripers between 1 and 3 pounds throughout Big Bend State Recreation Area. The fish are taking anchovies and crankbaits in shad patterns. Bigger fish are being caught closer to Davis Dam with the fish hitting soft plastic worms and crankbaits fished from shore. Shoreline anglers are also catching 5-fish limits of rainbow trout. Different combinations of PowerBait, worms, and spotted spinners are catching the fish.

WAYNE E. KIRCH WMABoaters have found good action for rainbow trout. The fish are taking Kastmasters, PowerBait, and night crawlers. Water levels are steady. Recent weather activity did not bring much moisture. Aquatic vegetation is starting to decline along the shorelines, but wind is pushing sheets around, mostly on the north ends. Overnight temperatures are below freezing.

URBAN PONDS

Fishing action is steady for bluegill and catfish in the ponds. Catfish are biting on night crawlers and hot dog pieces. Bass are hitting on plastics in the back ponds. Stocked rainbows love night crawler pieces and PowerBait.
