Monster Bluefin in Bodega Bay

The New Sea Angler out of Bodega Bay Sportfishing was offshore on a flashing bird marine mammal trip.
We had one lure out and dragging a really large Rapala and hooked a monster Bluefin Tuna. Unfortunately we had gear failure and it broke off.
Big news for our area to hook such a large Bluefin Tuna.

4-3-2019Rick Powers, skipper of the New Sea Angler out of Bodega Bay Sportfishing called in today with a report. 13 Anglers took full limits of excellent quality rockfish, they fished down towards Point Reyes. They also pulled in 116 Dungenese Crabs that were up to 3 pounds. Along with 28 rock carb up to a pound and a half. Ocean conditions were excellent. No wind, no swell, beautiful day. Rick Powers from The New Sea Angler checked in with us today, Monday April 1, from the opening day of rockcod and lingcod. They had 21 anglers that had full limits of rockfish at Point Reyes. They had 2 lingcod to 14 pounds. They released 3 Salmon hooked on shrimp flies. There was lots of activity, big schools of anchovies, fish following the gear up and looked really good.
