West Walker River Fishing Report
9-18-2016
Jim Reid
The West is still fishing pretty well though you may need to hike a bit to search out the deeper pools where there are fish hanging out. The areas close to parking areas get hit pretty hard so they may not be holding too many fish right now. Spin anglers are using panther martins, rooster tails, salmon eggs, night crawlers and power eggs. Fly anglers are going with attractor nymphs in the mornings like prince, pheasant tail, dark lord, copper john then as the day warms up try hopper dropper rigs with those nymphs underneath and on top go with a madam x, chubby chernobyl or stacker hopper.
