A damn fine way to start a trip, that's for sure, and an indication that the bounty below is here aplenty. From this point forward it's simply a matter of conditions, not that that is any revelation, so we remain prepared ready to take full advantage of any opportunities that come our way. An abbreviated description of the day is as follows: twenty four tuna total with five over the deuce, one real whopper at 336, and the remainder, aside from a couple of hundred pound models that dropped the overall average, from 140 – 190. A good day by any measure the standard is now certainly elevated. To continue the momentum would be fine with all. Not counting our chicken's just yet though, knowing how fickle conditions have been, we'll have to pin at least a portion of our desired outcome on good fortune. Meanwhile an aside worthy of mention is a few spaces available on the upcoming 12/15 day voyage departing February 12th returning to Cabo San Lucas for the fly home option on February 24th. Based on what we know, and what is currently developing, I would not hesitate to take advantage of the opportunity if one has the time. It is big fish season, and big fish are most definitely around. Give Tracy a call in the office for more details. Today's images first feature long time fisherman and veteran Royal Star angler Steve Masuda's 336 moments before the gaff was driven home, and the triumphant man himself with crewman Blake Wasano and Captain Brian Sims sharing the moment. Congratulations from all of us to Steve on this magnificent catch! This mid afternoon sardine eater is a perfect example of why we always encourage angler's to stick with the 130# fluorocarbon leaders or mono. Yes Sir!
