Hello from your Lake Jennings!
As the weather and lake attempt to cool down fishing is fair to moderate. Anglers out on a boat did catch limits of Bass on both Saturday and Sunday but nothing of notable size. Red Ears were caught off the Fishing Float and one hungry Carp was caught, just couldn't resist a live crawdad. No sign of the Wipers. Lake Jennings will start Trout season on the Friday of November 1st.

Best Catfish Spots: Deeper waters and the buoyline at the tower
Best Catfish Bait: Mackerel, Chicken Liver, or Dough Bait
Best Bass Spots: Points in 20' to 30' of water along the weed line. Topwater at the beginning of the day.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Crankbaits run shallow for early morning and evening top water and throughout the day using a drop shot. Lake Jennings now has medium size live shiners for bait.
Best Wiper Spots: On the move in schools
Best Wiper Lures/Bait: Crankbaits, Rapalas and Spinners for trolling. Live Shiners or frozen Anchovies
Best Pan Fish Spots: T-Dock, Cloister and Half Moon Coves
Best Pan Fish Bait: Wax Worms and Meal Worms.

Notables: Local Fisherman Don Belchamber of Alpine caught a 17.6 pound Carp using a live crawdad fishing Eagle Point.

Prognosis: 2,400 pounds total of Wipers have been placed into Lake Jennings this year but they are not cooperating. The good news is that by the time they do they are going to have a nice girth. New this year, Lake Jennings will stock 1 ?? to 2 pound trout along with some 3-8 pound and 8-12 pound throughout the season. TROUT SEASON will start NOVEMBER 1, watch for the stocking schedule.

Water Temperature: 78.5 degrees on surface

Note New Hours:
FRIDAY, SATURDAY, AND SUNDAY
OPEN AT 6:15 AM
CLOSE AT 7:00 PM

Shore fishing below campground is available by purchasing permits at the campground Monday thru Thursday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
