"Some of the best white seabass fishing at the islands in 50 years," remarked H&M Landing Tackle manager Rick Marin June 23. "It was all on squid in the channel (between Tijuana and the Coronados) and started about ten days ago. I was out there on last Monday. Now the netters are after the squid. But some of the fish were up to 60 pounds."

Three 1.5 day boats from the landing scored nine white seabass and 244 yellowtail for the day. On the same Sunday, Fisherman's Landing offshore boats Prowler and Condor did very well on yellowtail, also picking up a bonito and a bluefin tuna.

Pt. Loma's Mission Belle took a yellowtail and 28 barracuda on the ?? day run, and Daily Double had five halibut on the morning half-day.

Seaforth Sportfishing's nine boats posted a summer variety: seven white seabass, 49 yellowtail, 77 barracuda 247 sand bass and 264 calico bass, along with a halibut, 370 released calicos and an assortment of bottom fish.
